Children's Development
The provision for children’s development and learning is guided by The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Starshine reflect the key themes and commitments of the EYFS and follows the practice guidance Early Learning Goals. Play helps young children to learn and develop through participation and communication, which research has shown to be the means by which young children learn. Many different Theorists are embedded in our practice and staff use teaching techniques that are proven to aid children's development and helps them flourish.
With this in mind, we aim to offer a wide variety of events, experiences and activities for the children in our care. We want the nursery to be alive with development opportunities so each child can find something they want to do. The experiences offered within the nursery are a combination of activities that are child initiated and adult led, in which the staff take the lead in helping the children to participate.
